Examinations Board Request — Faculty
Dear Faculty,
We value your role in ensuring the academic integrity and support of our students’ educational journey. The Examinations Board is here to assist with various examination-related matters, and we encourage you to reach out with any concerns or requests.
The Examinations Board convenes monthly, on the second Monday of each month, to review submitted requests. Therefore, please plan your submissions accordingly and expect a response after our scheduled meetings.
Below is an outline of the situations in which faculty might need to contact the Examinations Board:
- Requests for Reassessment Procedures: If you believe a reassessment is warranted for a student’s examination based on specific circumstances, please refer to the guidelines outlined in EER Article 24.
- Requests for Exemptions: Should you identify a student who may qualify for an exemption from certain modules or courses based on prior learning or other qualifications, you may submit a request on their behalf in accordance with EER Article 6.
- Support for Students with Disabilities: If you are aware of a student who requires accommodations due to physical or sensory disabilities, please refer them and share your observations with the Examinations Board for consideration, as outlined in EER Article 7.
- Objections or Concerns Regarding Examination Processes: If you have any concerns or objections regarding the examination procedures, decisions, or outcomes for a particular student, you are welcome to raise these as per EER Article 43.
- Participation in Appeals Processes: Faculty may be called upon to provide input or context during appeals processes initiated by students. This is relevant to EER Article 44, where student appeals are considered by the Board of Appeal for Examinations.
- Grave Personal Circumstances Affecting Students: If a student is experiencing significant personal challenges, such as severe illness or family bereavement, and requires adjustments in their study path, faculty can support their request to the Examinations Board. This is particularly relevant under EER Article 7.
- Reporting and Addressing Academic Misconduct: In cases where there are concerns about academic misconduct, such as fraud or plagiarism, faculty should notify the Examinations Board. During such investigations, faculty input may be needed, as outlined in EER Article 41.
Your insights and input are invaluable in maintaining the quality and fairness of our academic processes. We encourage you to use this channel when needed to ensure a smooth and equitable experience for all students. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out to the Examinations Board directly at the following email address: [email protected]
